The Next Liberal Leader

Post by hitest »

That's it then! Trudeau shambles off into that good night. The horse race for the leadership of the Liberals is off and running. I think Freeland makes the most sense as she's proven herself against TheDonald.
What's your prediction?

Too early to call. Freeland and Carney are early favorites but both have serious issues. Carney has no ground game or staff. Freeland is tied to the hip to JT and all the policies she will need to define herself against. A dark horse could come in and knock them all over with a feather and who would want a dead party leadership anyway? The wildcard is Trump and we will be in the middle of a leadership run when he takes the oath and starts making serious his threats which will play havoc on the markets. No one has any idea how that will play except that we will be playing games while a storm is coming ashore. JT has left Canada in a shambles and that will be the legacy of epitaph of the Liberal brand.

Melanie Joly out

Clark says she would scrap carbon tax, denies having been Conservative

Hope she brushed up on her French...

Yeah... she's lying. Hope she wins anyway to be Kim 2.0 although Kim herself has way more class.

I'd vote for Christy or Melanie. I could look at them for a few years.

I'd vote for Christy just to see her lose. She's BC's answer to Doug Ford.

For me it’s hard to say Christie Clark with out invoking my gag reflex. What a cow. In her time as the BC premier she enjoyed violating collective agreements. I really hope they don’t select Clark.
