In a total display of medical ignorance, here's the latest from Rustad the Conservative candidate for BC Premier.
After speaking with BC's chief medical officer Dr Bonnie Henry he announced that he now regrets getting the Covid vaccine. Why? Because it wasn't about slowing or stopping the spread of Covid, it was about govt "control" of citizens. Full buy in to the bizarre conspiracy claims of anti-vaxxers with the usual pass on how, why or what kind of 'control' they mean or is even possible.
Then to double-down he now says his govt will close all overdose protection sites.
So to ask in a simple manner: Why does he want people to die? Does anyone believe a person with such an idea should go anywhere near, let alone be in charge of the BC Medical system?

I contest this is an election between radicals and moderates. The moderates are not the party polling at 1% in 2020.

So I heard one of them explain their climate plan.
Remove the carbon tax and any relatted tax on gas, could go down 30c a litre. This will help you by not requiring you to even think about reducing the emissions you contribute. It will enable you to create even more,
It will not be replaced by a tax on emitters, because that would make them uncompetitive. Instead they will get tax incentives if they voluntarily reduce emissions themselves. If they continue to do nothing, that's just fine. If they do, they will pay less than the zero tax.
Continues on with a pshahh! to explaining how they'll do more by throwing out all this revenue.
Goes on regarding electrical supply by dismissing the cheapest solutions wind and solar as 'doesn't work' once again forgets BS is on the Ring of Fire and geothermal is unmentionable and goes on how we may need nuclear and gas fired solutions. All their candidates spout about small nuclear reactors that haven't even been built, or tried yet and will require decades to design, permit and build.
The Conservative Party (federal and provincial) is not just Climate Deniers, it is actively anti-environment in every way possible.

The con's stance on the environment has deep roots in evangelical anti-environmentalism.
