You mean it acted like a real corporation? I thought the CEOs bonus was directly related to the number of employees laid off.
Telus and Bell CEOs must be getting hundreds of millions this year.

That was Harpers plan all along. Force the CBC to run ads and fill the management with his lackeys. When enough of them are on the board vote up their own bonuses while gutting the rank and file and uprooting/liquidating all the local branches. Thus isolating the public from the broadcaster and making them look redundant in a free market so they can kill it. With no independent media no one can correct the lies.

I feel that this Tory war against the CBC is the stupidest idea they've come up with. There's no need to offer salary and bonuses like this as it is not a private network and all the private ones are cutting back like crazy right now.
So take things under control and fix them, not just tear down something out of laziness and incompetence.
You don't fix the problem of too much traffic on a bridge by tearing the bridge down.

Cruelty is the point. Boils down to no one should pine for government run solutions unless it exclusively benefits one party which is them. If they can't hold the message hostage then they will kill the hostage. They are so afraid of their own shadow they will sabotage any advantage they see any other party might have to get their vison out there.
