Ontario ordering public servants back into office full time

Post by Dr Strangelove »

Current mandate of 3 days a week has been provincial government policy since April 2022

I am sure this was warranted.

It important to sit behind your office desk and pretend to work. It gives those thousands of managers something to micromanage.

Far too may people talking about making housing out of the downtown office towers.
Are they thinking clearly??? NO!!!
No Schools.
No stores.
No groceries.
No amenities.
No parks.
No playgrounds.
Downtown office buildings are no place for families or family housing.
So, gawd forbid if we decide to do such a stupid thing and have more problems not very far down the road LOL
Homes are not offices and are not amenable to developing efficient work ethics and arrangements. You cannot teach jobs or mentor new personnel solely online or on the phone.

Most of these building are so old and filled with asbestos as to be an albatross to begin with. Best to flatten and put up condos styled skyscrapers with commercial suits at ground floor and residential above that.

Since all my customers are remote to my office anyhow, it makes no difference if I work from home or from the office.

My downtown office is near all of those things, including 1 block from two different directions of LRT, and 1 block from the River Valley, the largest city park in the world.

So they sold 3 floors of the building for apartments since everyone works from home. Affordable apartments too.
