Stefan Marquis — who was running for the Conservatives in the Montreal riding of Laurier—Sainte-Marie, held by Liberal cabinet minister Steven Guilbeault since 2019 — wrote in a post on social media that he is no longer a candidate for the party.

Case in point:

The outrage is clickbait to drive ads. However, the outrage itself is vapid at best and crass. You can't have a culture war if you have no class.

A group of 11 current and former elected officials in B.C. issued a letter Friday, calling on Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre to withdraw his endorsement of Aaron Gunn, the candidate for the North Island-Powell River riding. They’re also demanding that he withdraw his candidacy.
