TLDR Monster mills, like walmart, have hollowed out the low hanging fruit that is easy to harvest while driving medium and small mills out of business. Now we ONLY have mega mills that have scraped the bottom of the barrel and are being tariffed to boot. They will fold en mass which is good as the forests might get a chance to regenerate but these took thousands of years to get to this level and have been stripped bare to it will be several generations before it is back to a commercial forestry.
Blaming the environmental protestors at this point is like screaming at a fire alarm for being loud. We need to be stewards of what we have left or we will end up like the cod in Newfoundland.

Fuzzy math not grounded in reality creates phantasms that have real world impact.
