Pakistan backed by Saudi Arabia as their sugar daddy and not the US could make the China reaction interesting. ISI was already powerful enough to be their own government before this, if they dig deep into Afghanistan and pose a significant threat to Iran's flank things will get spicy fast.

I am curious about the Chinese reaction too, as they are getting cuddly with India lately, and Pakistan has a lot of friction there.

And everyone who has attacked the Afghans has regretted it. I see no winners.
