Bush and Trump are world class assholes but Bush was the template that broke the mold of western civilization itself and directly led to this:

The Longest Suicide Note in American History

The Trump administration’s new National Security Strategy targets liberal democracy itself. Applebaum warns that this National Security Strategy projects MAGA’s domestic culture war onto foreign policy, treating European liberal democracy as the enemy while ignoring actual geopolitical threats. If implemented, it could dismantle U.S. alliances, weaken global influence, and leave America dangerously exposed

Risks & Consequences
- Weakening Alliances: NATO and EU cooperation could fracture if U.S. policy actively undermines European democracies.
- Blind Spots: Ignoring Russia, China, and terrorism leaves the U.S. vulnerable to real-world threats.
- Institutional Damage: Agencies like USAID and the Global Engagement Center have already been dismantled based on conspiracist claims.
- Economic Fallout: A weakened EU would struggle against Russian hybrid warfare and Chinese economic pressure, destabilizing global markets.

While America chases false phantoms in old allies the real enemies are gathering to strike down the US once and for all.

Trump skewered by analyst over 'single stupidest' statement in US foreign policy history
"Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled in the History of South America. It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the United States of America all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

Last slammed Trump for the comments.

"This is a suboptimal way to conduct foreign policy. It is erratic, unfocused, vague, and ultimately dangerous—both to America’s short-term and long-term interests," he wrote. "Pick whatever foreign policy disaster you’d like from American history—Bay of Pigs; Iran-Contra; Mission: Accomplished. The thinking behind Trump’s Venezuela adventure is worse."

"In fact, I’d go so far as to say that Trump’s ultimatum last night is the single stupidest and most irresponsible presidential statement in the 249-year history of American foreign policy. I defy you to find something—anything—dumber," Last wrote.
