Penticton-Summerland MLA Amelia Boultbee leaves BC Conservative caucus

Another BC Conservative MLA has left the caucus, marking the fifth departure in recent months.


On Monday, Penticton-Summerland MLA Amelia Boultbee announced that she has left the caucus and will now sit as an independent.

“I did not make this decision lightly. It is the result of weeks of conversations and reflection,” Boultbee said in a statement on her social media.

“I want to assure my constituents that I am still here to serve you, despite the change in where I sit in the Legislature.”

The turnout was so low for eligible leadership voters that Rustad won with the support of only one in seven of them.

The BC Conservative executive management committee called for him to resign yesterday.
He says no chance.
Counting on the massive leadership mandate he received from over 900 of the 5500 eligible voters

BC Conservatives say 'professionally incapacitated' Rustad removed as leader

The B.C. Conservative Party says John Rustad has been "removed" as leader of the Opposition and a caucus vote has installed MLA Trevor Halford as interim leader.

Fired by his own party. That takes effort especially from this flock of seagulls.
