Abbotsford-South Langley candidate Mike de Jong, who is running as an Independent, has received an endorsement from retiring federal Conservative MP Ed Fast, who represented a riding in Abbotsford for more than 18 years.

In 2023, Minto Apartment Limited Partnership – owners of an apartment building just steps from Parliament Hill – asked the Landlord and Tenant Board to intervene after it said Conservative MP Larry Brock failed to pay $16,429.23 in overdue rent, according to provincial documents.

Shut out from Tory nominations in Calgary, ex-Conservative joins Liberals while another runs as IndependentRanbir Parmar, who hoped to represent the Tories in Calgary McKnight, has joined the Liberals after not being allowed to contest the nomination. Minesh Patel, who faced a similar experience in Calgary Skyview, is running as an Independent.
