I'm sorry but people's attempts to tie immigration to the housing crisis doesn't resonate with people who live in the 'hinterlands' I seriously wish to see even a few new immigrants move here.
Especially if they serve food at fucking suppertime or sell or provide a service that no one else does. Not open a 7th pizza takeout or a 4th burger takeout that's closed more than it's open, or 2nd Dollar Store or florist.
The place next door just sold for $35,000. It's a large mobile with a full length addition 24x60 ft. On a 33 ft city lot with full amenities including 31 OTA tv channels and 10 FM radio ones. The roof leaks at the seam, that's why it's cheap.
It would cost about $20K to hire professionals to do it, way less if you could do it yourself.
Hell, if I was 10-15 years younger I'd do it myself and flip it for $120,000. Did that before, just live in it for a year and that's a hell of a nice tax free earning.
